History of
BWSW
Original founders Kemp Battle and Frank Winslow opened
the law firm of Battle & Winslow on October 1, 1911, and soon established
the firm as one of the premier law firms in the state. As Rocky Mount
grew, so did the firm - both in size and reputation. Kemp Battle and
Frank Winslow were involved civic leaders while at the same time the
firm represented local and regional clients in general business matters,
taxation and litigation, a tradition the firm continues today.
Battle & Winslow has evolved into Battle, Winslow, Scott & Wiley,
P.A. and the firm continues to operate with the integrity and distinction
created by its founders. The firm has always stressed the importance
of professional and civic involvement, and current members either have
been or are members of various governmental and civic boards or organizations,
such as the Nash County Planning Board, The North Carolina Bar Association, and the North Carolina Association
of Defense Attorneys. |
